Meridians, The Body's Energy Bloodstream

Author: JenniferMaster1

“The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talents to produce outstanding results.”

-Anthony Robbins

“There is one cause of disease–Constipation.” – Dr. John R. Christopher

This does not mean only constipation of the bowels, it is a more general constipation (blockage) in any of the systems of the body. One system of the body that is often overlooked is your energy system, which runs through the body’s meridians–pathways that carry energy into, through and out of your body. Good health is facilitated by energy (Qi or Chi) flowing freely through the meridians in the body. If a person’s vitality or energy is recognizably diminished it is an indication that the body’s organs or tissues are functioning poorly, therefore the qi flow is inadequate.

The flow of the meridian energy pathways is as critical as the flow of blood. No energy, no life. Meridians affect every organ and every physiological system, including the immune, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, skeletal, muscular and lymphatic systems. Each system is fed by at least one meridian. If a meridian’s energy is obstructed or unregulated, the system it feeds is jeopardized. The meridians include 14 tangible channels that carry energy into, through and out of your body. Your meridian pathways also connect hundreds of tiny, distinct reservoirs of heat and electromagnetic energy along the surface of the skin. These are your acupuncture points, and they can be stimulated with needles or physical pressure to release or redistribute energy along the meridian pathway. Yin meridian’s flow upwards and Yang meridian’s flow downwards. Pathways corresponding to the Yang organ is often used to treat disorders of its related Yin organ.

Blockages in this system create pain, illness and disease.

Blockages to energy flow can occur in four ways:

1. Physical – when you injure yourself in some way

2. Emotional – when you experience a high amount of stress, fear, anxiety or worry over a sustained period of time, emotional blockages are created.

3. Mental – this is caused by thinking too much. Too much thinking is when your mind never shuts down. There is always mental chatter going on in your head.

4. Spiritual – this is when your human spirit is crushed. Depression is often the symptom. You are found devoid of faith and hope.

And here is a little known fact; metal anywhere on your body negatively affects your health. How can that be?! In his article, “Chinese Lessons for Modern Chiropractors,” Dr. George Goodheart, the father of Applied Kinesiology, spoke of his discovery called, the Antennae Affect. He found that it is possible to tape a small metal ball onto an acupuncture point and accomplish longer term stimulation to that point. These little BB’s are now called AcuAids and are now used by thousands of doctors daily. This was an important discovery. Like those tiny BB’s, any metal that is constantly on a given point on the human body may cause problems. The critical factor is where the points are located on the body.

Acupuncture, sticking metal needles into different parts of the body, is based on meridians. Where ever metal is present it distorts the energy flow. If it is located near a meridian, it throws off the meridians and can have a small or even a large affect, especially long term, on a person’s health and they may never realize.

People also have their health affected, to a certain degree, from piercing their ears. It’s been popular, for many years now, to pierce multiple parts of ones ear without any idea of what you are doing to yourself. There is another whole set of acupuncture points on the ears. Every energy center of the body can be represented on a part of the ear.

What about piercing your tongue or your navel? I am glad you asked! The tongue is where the meridian for the central nervous system, and its counterpart, the governing system meet. My body cringes when I think of the harm that one is doing to themselves energetically! And your navel is right on the meridian for the central nervous system. The central nervous system is responsible for just about every single functioning part of your body. So if you have metal on your central meridian this can obviously have all kinds of affects on different parts of your health.

Events can happen in our lives that will affect us in many different ways and effect more than one aspect listed above. To facilitate good health on all levels the energy system must not be ignored.
